At Texas Leadership, we are excited about this upcoming year and are constantly working to improve systems and make sure that safety is our number one priority.

Please have your students at their designated drop-off area 5-10 minutes before departure. Please also be ready to pick them up in the afternoon at your location.

 

If your student misses their bus, YOU are responsible to or from school.

Traffic Flow Guidelines

TLCA Abilene 2023-2024

 

ELEMENTARY Traffic

NEW Traffic Flow Guidelines for the 2022-2023 school year are as follows:

 

NO More Walk-ups

  • Parents must stay in vehicle during drop-off and pick-up

Drop-off Area

  • ALL STUDENTS (K-6) will be dropped off in the State Street circle drive. All vehicles must use the circle drive for drop-off. Please do not exit your vehicle. 

Pick-up Areas

  • ALL K-6 students will be picked up in the State Street circle drive. All parents must remain in vehicle and TLCA staff members will place children in cars.

No Parking Areas

  • There will be no parking on North 8th street from 1:00-4 pm each day (we need this area clear for Bus Students dismissal).
  • There will be no parking on the school side of State Street.

 

SECONDARY Traffic

Drop off:

  • Parents stay in vehicle during drop-off and pick-up
  • Parents do not drive through the circle drive, this is for buses only
  • Student drop off in the mornings is the side curb of Briarwood. Do not drive through the GYM parking lot, as we have students parking and getting out.

Pick up:

  • Student pick up is along the side of Westview. Parents pull all the way through as staff directs traffic. Staff assists students across the street as needed. Parents stay in vehicles.
  • During bad weather/rain, a Blackboard notification is sent out to parents that pick up is in the front drive. Staff have walkie talkies to call students to the front drive.
