TLCA Students will be reporting for school August 15th, as Texas Leadership Charter Academy’s Board of Directors approved the 2018-2019 School Calendar.
In developing the calendar, students' time will be calculated in minutes, and teachers are still under a ten-month contract of 187 calendar days.
School districts and charter schools are required to operate for a minimum of 76,650 minutes, including intermissions and recess, according to state mandates.
Highlights from the new calendar include: first day of instruction will be August 15; Students and Staff will have the week of Thanksgiving off November 19-23; Christmas break will be December 21 – January 7 with students returning January 8; last day of class is May 21; spring break will remain aligned with Districts in respective cities, March 11-15 and graduation is set for May 17.
We value your opinion and ask that you take time to complete this survey.
Survey will close Monday, April 30,2018
The reward field trip to Maxx Air for students who sold 15 or more items in our Spring fundraiser will be on Tuesday, February 27th. If your child qualified, you will receive a permission slip today. It must be returned, Monday, February 26th.
You asked and we listened. We spent the morning working on a plan that will meet the needs and concerns of parents. I have attached an updated map. As you will see we will return to State Street to line up for the car line and enter the circle drive at the west entrance. As you exit the circle drive you will have a left only turn (this is to decrease the congestion with the walk-up/pick-up parents. Here is my request: Please follow all staff member instructions. I have worked to address your concerns and ask that in return you help our staff by following the procedures (no line cutting) and maintain appropriate language and gestures at all times. Please know that I appreciate everyone who came to me with opinions and concerns. The walk-up/pick-up procedure did not change. Those students will be on the Merchant end of the sidewalk waiting for parents to come get them.
