COVID-19 School Update

TLCA Family -

Parents, Students, and Staff,

We apologize for the continued notifications such as this, but with all that we’re experiencing in our world right now because of this COVID-19 Coronavirus, and the fact that our news changes almost by the minute, we are making yet another announcement of extended closure for our schools.
Effective now, based on guidance from our Governor, our campuses will remain closed through April 3, 2020.

We can beat this virus by not providing a vehicle for its’ spread. Please stay home, practice social separation and follow guidelines published by the Center for Disease Control, our local health authority, and our governmental officials.

Yesterday, we began rolling out educational/instructional plans for our students. We know this is not ideal and that this new requirement for our educational distribution creates many challenges for all of us. Our staff will be learning new methods of operation as well, so please be patient as we provide education in a new manner. As we can make them available, we will provide materials that can be picked up by a drive-through method where needed, as well as online delivery of the curriculum. Most importantly; we need your help!

Some guidelines that are being passed down to us from State and Federal educational agencies is to help parents to help students be engaged and as successful as possible, so we will provide instruction for you through our campus’ teachers and administrators. Being that this is new for all of us, we will likely make some mistakes and have challenges that are very difficult to overcome.

We will provide you everything we possibly can and will make ourselves available to help you equip your students to be engaged in learning. One thing that is being required of us is to provide you, the parent, a means for documenting daily academic engagement. We will get that information to you soon.

We will try our best to coordinate specific hours each day where campus admin and teaching staff can be available by phone or online classroom. This will likely be a rotating schedule of some sort, but our campuses will communicate that information. Please watch our communication on the website, Blackboard and Social Media. We will provide information/instruction as we can.

Thank you,

Ron Ledbetter
