TLCA raised $3366.95 for the 2017 March of Dimes Campaign. Carmen Crane, TLCA Abilene Principal, serves on the Executive Leadership Team for March of Dimes. She set TLCA's goal this year at $2500.00. Congratulations to TLCA students for surpassing her goal as they continue giving back to their communities.
Supply Lists are now available for your convenience. We also have an online option. To make sure that the boxes are delivered before the start of school, parents need to order by July 25th.Even though the flyers say that the sale starts in July, the boxes are now available and parents can order them today
Applications for the 2017-2018 school year will be available online beginning April 3, 2017. Paper applications will not be used this year. Online applications can be completed on any computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection. If you do not have access to the internet, you may come in to any TLCA campus and complete an online application with the Campus Registrar.
TLCA Students will be reporting for school August 14, as Texas Leadership Charter Academy’s Board of Directors approved the 2017-2018 School Calendar.
In developing the calendar, students' time will be calculated in minutes, and teachers are still under a ten-month contract of 187 calendar days.
School districts and charter schools are required to operate for a minimum of 75,600 minutes, including intermissions and recess, according to state mandates.
Highlights from the new calendar include: first day of instruction will be August 14; Students and Staff will have the week of Thanksgiving off November 20-24; Christmas break will be December 22 – January 5 with students returning January 9; last day of class is May 18; spring break will remain aligned with Districts in respective cities, March 12-16 and graduation is set for May 18.
Intent to Return notification is underway. Our preferred method of completing the Intent to Return form is accessing this form on your campus’ website. By completing this form online you are either RESERVING your current student’s spot for the 2017-2018 school year, or you are letting us know that your student WILL NOT be returning for the 2017-2018 school year. If you do not have access to the internet, you may request a form in the office of your student’s school. Whichever method you choose for Intent to Return notification, this must be completed by March 3, 2017. You could be forfeiting your student’s spot by not responding to this request.
