Abilene Christian University Marriage and Family Institute

The mission of the marriage and Family Institute is to provide a clinical setting in which Marriage and Family Therapy interns can develop clinical skills and to serve the people of the greater Abilene area by offering individual, marriage and family therapy. Services are provided under the supervision of licensed marriage and family therapist and are provided on a sliding fee scale, depending upon clients' yearly income. New Horizons- Keeping Children First

Turning Point Counseling

Turning Point Counseling, LLC is made up of professionals with over 250 years of combined experience, serving clients in Abilene and the surrounding area. Callers are warmly greeted by the Turning Point Counseling staff and carefully matched with the therapist best equipped to address their specific needs. The therapists at Turning Point Counseling offer solutions for stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, relationship problems, and many other concerns. They provide individual, couple, or family counseling, as well as psychological testing.

Hardin Simmons University

As a service to our community and students, Hardin-Simmons University’s CACREP accredited graduate program in clinical counseling maintains a counseling clinic on campus in the historic Cowden-Paxton building.  Graduate students who have successfully completed the pre-clinical courses are able to work with clients under the supervision of fully-licensed doctoral level counselors.  *scroll to the bottom of the page and click “HSU Psychology and Counseling Center” for details and contact information.  

National Hotlines

National Hopeline Network(1.800.SUICIDE) brings the tremendous knowledge, skill and resources of existing crisis centers under the safety net of a single, easy-to-remember, toll-free number. People in crisis generally don't have the energy or ability to take on a long search for help. The Hopeline Network helps make appropriate, critical services available to all.

Texas Hotlines

Texas Youth Hotline - The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services initiated the Texas Youth Hotline. The Texas Youth Hotline and the agency's Texas Runaway Hotline are answered 24-hours a day and provide preventive services to callers who are in need of a caring voice and a listening ear.

Local Agencies

Noah Project (1.800.444.3551) is a center for victims of family violence. Their mission is advocating for victims and working to end family violence. If you or someone you know is being hurt by family violence, Noah Project can help.

Texas State Technical College

We have partnered with Texas State Technical College (TSTC) to offer dual credit classes. In the 2022-2023 school year we are offering the following pathways:
