Our school serves nearly 500 students ranging from kindergarten through eighth grade. We love our kids and realize when basic needs are not being met, learning will not happen. In order to serve the whole child, we offer services to help meet the needs of each student.
Services we currently offer:
weekend food bags
hygiene items
clothing items
Each Friday afternoon we have 67 students come to get a bag of food to help tide them over until school breakfast Monday morning.
In each bag we put at least:
one vegetable
one fruit
two snacks (goldfish, chips, granola bars, etc)
two breakfast items (cereal, pop-tarts, oatmeal)
two meals (sandwiches, Spagettios, etc)
Hygiene items:
toothbrushes
toothpaste
shampoo
conditioner
soap
laundry detergent
Clothing Items:
jackets
socks
shoes
Before longer breaks, we gather bigger boxes of food to send to each family. We currently serve 35 families.
Items in each box are:
Box of Cereal |
Large jar of peanut butter |
Large jar of jelly |
spaghetti sauce |
spaghetti |
box of macaroni and cheese |
Box of mashed potatoes |
pack of ramen noodles |
spagettios |
box of granola bars |
box of pop tarts |
fresh fruit (apples, bananas, oranges) |
canned fruit |
The district does not fund this program. Each item we are able to give to our students is from a donation. We have a small pantry on campus so we can accept canned food and non-perishable items, hygiene items and clothes. At this point, monetary donations are used solely for food items.
